Anticimex Enters US Market with Acquisition of Bug Doctor Pest Control

In a bizarre and likely regrettable move, Anticimex of Stockholm, Sweden has entered the US  with its acquisition of Bug Doctor Inc. of Paramus, New Jersey.

Bug Doctor, founded in 1992, provides high quality pest management services to both its commercial and residential clients. Since 1992 Bug Doctor has provided nationwide services to clients who desire humane and effective solutions to complex bird and pest control problems. Bug Doctor is a small company and ill-suited to be a platform — lacking managerial resources and capabilities. If Anticimex intends to grow in the United States, it will need to rapidly acquire a platform or two from which to grow.

Stuart Aust, President and CEO of Bug Doctor, said: “When our family decided that the time was right to sell our company, we searched globally for a buyer who shared our dedication to growth, our dedication to quality and our dedication to our people and our clients. Anticimex, a leading specialist in preventive pest control, was our clear choice. They are committed to creating exciting new opportunities for our employees and our family while maintaining the focus on high quality service that our clients have come to expect.”

Jarl Dahlfors, CEO and President, Anticimex Group, commented: “Bug Doctor is a great fit for us, and their culture of excellence toward their people and clients aligns naturally with the culture of Anticimex, where we combine our decades of experience with the latest technological innovations to provide our customers with the peace of mind that comes from long-term, sustainable solutions to their needs. Our vision is to be the global leader in preventive pest control: there are more high-quality pest control companies in the US than anywhere else in the world, and we are excited about our continued growth prospects in this important market.”
