Orkin Acquires Pugliese Pest Solutions

The Potomac Pest Control Group today announced the sale of its client, Pugliese Pest Solutions, to Orkin.

With a fleet over 40 vehicles, the Company, headquartered in Utica, NY, services residential customers in the Mohawk Valley and commercial customers throughout the State of New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.

For over half a century, Pugliese Pest Solutions, Inc., has been a premiere provider of pest management services in the State of New York. Founded in 1963 by F.J. Pugliese, as F.J. Pugliese Co, Inc., the Company provides a full spectrum of general pest control and fumigation services for commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers.

Pugliese has grown to be one of the largest privately-held pest control companies in the State of New York and an early shareholder in Copesan Services.

The Potomac Company acted as lead advisor to Company and its shareholders. Managing Director Paul Giannamore said, “2014 has thus far been the best year in recent memory for sellers of pest control companies in terms of valuation. The sale of Pugliese was a competitive bid process and Orkin prevailed as the highest bidder. We were able to structure the transaction in a creative manner that maximized proceeds to the selling shareholders.”

The Company’s lead M&A attorney Michael Stanczyk of the law firm McKenzie Hughes. “Paul Giannamore, of The Potomac Company, performed exemplary and I can state that the deal would likely not have come together in the form it did, nor closed as smoothly, without his involvement.”

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. For more information, contact Paul Giannamore at +1-215-525-0689.
